Nevada Gaming Control Board Approves Interactive Licenses
The first steps to neutralizing the gray areas around online wagering have been taken today. The Nevada Gaming Commission has approved two licenses for interactive gaming. They were awarded to Bally’s and International Gaming Technology respectively. This is the first step to allow people in the State to access an infrastructure to place online wagers at a variety of games of chance.
This operation will be the “litmus test”, so to speak, and will inevitably, in our opinion, lead to a well regulated online casino, poker, and sports betting option for most of the other states. The big picture is probably a few years off but it is exciting for bettors everywhere to see these steps being taken.
Signs: Signs are all over the wall. New Jersey is busy passing laws legalizing sports betting. Sports betting is already legal in “cruise” ships throughout the southern United States. Now Nevada is laying out the foundation to make betting activities legal, safe and regulated within the state.
